Riassumendo in poche parole idealmente...
1- dovremmo riascoltare la registrazione nelle stesse identiche condizioni (per esempio
curva della risposta in ambiente) nelle quali questa è stata effettuata riproducendo così con esattezza le scelte del tecnico/artista... ma queste variano.
2- dovremmo riascoltare la registrazione allo stesso volume col quale è stata effettuata perché altrimenti la risposta percepita, come ben noto,
varia anch'essa.

Non penso sia necessario ripetere le argomentazioni già esposte in quella discussione ma aggiungo questa citazione:

Toole addresses this in his book, "Sound Reproduction" third edition, in chapter 3.5.1.6, pages 48 and 49: "As a generalization, music and movies are often mixed while listening at high sound levels. When I have walked into these sessions I find myself quickly putting my fingers in my ears and retreating to the back of the room. I value my hearing. Naturally, when these recordings are played at "civilized" sound levels, the bass is perceptually attenuated because of the equal-loudness contours. A bit of bass boost may be required to restore satisfaction (see Section 12.3). This is why I monotonously recommend having easy access to tone controls, especially a bass control.")
